開幕致詞

Superintendent Dr. Mu-Kuan Chen, Director General, Dr. Yen-Po Yeh, Dr. Nina Kao, every speaker and participant, ladies and gentlemen, good morning. On behalf of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand (TECO), I am privileged to be invited to speak here.

First, I would like to congratulate on the 125th anniversary of Taiwan's Changhua Christian Hospital and express great appreciation for its everlasting efforts and significant contribution for delivering medical care and assistance to those in need. Since the establishment one century ago, Changhua Christian Hospital has been committed to healing and caring for people suffering from disease, regardless of sex, gender, income, and nationality. Over decades, not just our Taiwanese people but also many foreign patients in the rest of the world had ever received medical treatment and care. It is indeed a realization of "love from Taiwan without border" espoused by our government and people. The Hospital has been an important and active role in building Taiwan's global medical cooperative partnership to highlight international medicine and health agenda.

Over recent years, under our government's "New Southbound Policy", the Hospital has been designed as the pivot for furthering an extensive and substantial Thailand-Taiwan medical cooperation. We have seen both sides working together to advance on innovative medicine and cross-sector collaboration. We have and will keep walking in tandem amid the unprecedented global health crisis around. As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to spread and affect people's lives and stabilization of medical and health system, we have seen how innovative technology is working to enhance the effectiveness and resilience of policy and system and secure the safety of medical personnel and patients. Therefore, it is especially meaningful for all of us to gather here to address the role of medical technology to the safety of patience amid the global pandemic crisis. Taiwan has enjoyed an advantage of high-technology advancement and successfully employed to pandemic control and prevention and further secure medical system from weakening since the 2020 outbreak. We see the same path for Thailand heading toward.

On this occasion today, the conference will provide a platform for both sides to share good practice and expertise, more importantly, to build solid mutual support to fight the tough virus. TECO stands as a bridge role in promoting a closer Thailand-Taiwan medical and health cooperation and we look forward to more opportunities to happen from here. Finally, I would like to wish the conference a success. Thank you and please stay safe and healthy.
